The most fascinating thing I learned doing this project was that red is the hardest color to see in the deep water, so it essentially becomes an invisibility cloak. When you eat creatures that glow, you need something to cover that up to keep you from attracting predators.

The yarn version is a riot of colorful speckles in reds, pinks, oranges and a bit of black.
